THE CARAVAN PROJECT, WHAT IS IT?
SPONTANEOUS” CARPOOLING
The concept is simple: just go to a "carpool stop" and get a ride from a passing motorist. Without reservations, in all spontaneity!
PILOT PROJECT
Caravan is in its early stages! This year, for the pilot project, stops will be set up on 3 roads linking municipalities in the region, to demonstrate on a small scale the effectiveness of spontaneous carpooling.
CITIZENS’ INITIATIVE
Caravan comes from the citizens; their idea and impulse to respond to the major mobility issues in our region. It relies on mutual aid and community ties to develop collective and ecological transportation

WHO ARE WE
Don’t wait for alternatives to the solo car to appear on their own, let's implement them now.
The Caravan Project is an initiative that responds to the challenges of our time. We are citizens of the Eastern Townships, and we want to develop ecological and solidarity-based transportation in our region.
THE CONCEPT
“Carpool stops", like bus stops, will be set up at strategic and safe locations to allow riders to travel efficiently from one municipality to another. Volunteers will try out the routes a few times this summer to gather as much information as possible about average wait times and the overall quality of the experience
